New SMS Program Launched to Enhance National Security Awareness

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A program has been initiated to send crucial information about national security directly to mobile phones via SMS.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence Colonel Nalin Herath said that this system will provide immediate notifications during emergency situations. 

Additionally, it will disseminate information related to human trafficking through text messages.

The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with mobile service providers and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission.
