Daisy Forrest Released on Bail Amid Money Laundering Probe

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Kaduwela Magistrate's Court has ordered the release of Daisy Forrest Wickramasinghe on bail.

Wickramasinghe, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), was presented in court following her detention.

The court granted her release on three sureties of Rs 5 million each.

Daisy Forrest Wickramasinghe was taken into custody after providing a statement to the CID in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation under the Money Laundering Act.

This investigation also led to the earlier arrest and remand of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of Former Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The investigation is taking place over the misuse of funds through a joint account associated with the CSN channel.
