RED ALERT: Landslide Warnings Issued for Multiple Areas

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued Red Landslide Warnings for several high-risk areas across three districts as heavy rainfall continues to affect parts of the country.

According to the NBRO, the warnings have been issued for the Ududumbara, Ganga Ihala Korale and Pasbage Korale Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Kandy District, Yatiyantota in the Kegalle District, and Ambagamuwa and Norwood in the Nuwara Eliya District.

Meanwhile, the NBRO has urged residents in several other areas to remain vigilant and closely monitor the situation.

These areas include Doluwa, Udapalatha, Deltota, Medadumbara and Panvila in the Kandy District; Deraniyagala, Bulathkohupitiya, Aranayake and Dehiowita in the Kegalle District; Kotmale East, Kotmale West and Nuwara Eliya in the Nuwara Eliya District; and Opanayake, Ratnapura and Imbulpe in the Ratnapura District.
