COLOMBO (News 1st); 600 Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses that were previously retired from service will be repaired and reintroduced to the fleet, according to Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways Prasanna Gunasena.
The Deputy Minister stated that the government has allocated funds to expand the SLTB bus fleet.
In addition to the fleet expansion, a nationwide assessment has been conducted to identify vacancies among SLTB drivers and conductors, which have impacted operational capacity.
Minister Gunasena confirmed that a proposal to recruit personnel has been submitted to the Prime Minister’s subcommittee for approval.
