7 Day Detention Order For Suspect With Rs. 60M ICE

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect arrested in connection with a major narcotics seizure in the Kotahena area will be detained for seven days for questioning following an order issued by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.

The suspect was produced before court after being taken into custody during a raid conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau, which resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of illegal drugs valued at over Rs. 60 million.

Police informed court that the suspect was found in possession of 3 kilograms and 944 grams of ‘ice’ (crystal methamphetamine), along with 250 grams of heroin.

During the operation, officers also recovered a sum of Rs. 650,000 in cash, which police suspect to have been proceeds from narcotics trafficking.
