Dengue Cases Rise To 57,668; Death Toll Reaches 36

COLOMBO (News 1st): The number of dengue cases reported across the island has risen to 57,668.

Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, a Consultant Community Physician at the National Dengue Control Unit, says that the number of dengue-related deaths has also increased to 36.

The highest number of patients continues to be reported from the Western Province.

The National Dengue Control Unit noted that the reporting of cases has increased in the Colombo, Gampaha, Badulla, Kurunegala, and Puttalam districts.

Meanwhile, island-wide mosquito control programs are being carried out today under the guidance of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.

Dr. Kapila Kannangara, Acting Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, advises the public to always ensure their premises are kept clean.
