Justice Ministry Moves To Fast-Track Child-Related Court Cases

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Justice and National Integration states that attention has been focused on expediting court cases related to children.

This was taken into consideration during a discussion held at the Ministry of Justice between the Minister, Harshana Nanayakkara, and a delegation of representatives from the United Nations.

During the meeting, attention was also directed toward providing facilities for children to give evidence via video technology for cases involving children.

The Minister noted that judges are currently being made aware of this process and the necessary arrangements are being carried out to implement it.
