Special Traffic Plan In Effect Today For War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony In Battaramulla

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Police state that a special traffic plan will be in operation today for the National War Heroes Commemoration Day ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at the Ranaviru Monument.

According to police reports, vehicular traffic will be restricted starting from 3:30 PM today from both Polduwa Junction and Keangnam Junction, and motorists are strongly advised to use alternative routes during this period.

In terms of alternative arrangements, vehicles traveling via Parliament Road can divert from Polduwa Junction towards Battaramulla via Palanthuna Junction, while vehicles traveling from Keangnam Junction will be able to proceed via Palanthuna and Battaramulla. Additionally, Vehicles arriving from Rajamalwatta via Bodhiraja Mawatha may proceed to Battaramulla Road.

The Police added that designated parking for buses and trucks has been allocated from the Japan Friendship Road Junction up to Kimbulawala Junction, as well as from near the Ceylon Electricity Board on Japan Friendship Road up to Pelawatta Junction.
