COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Police say instructions have been issued to all Officers-in-Charge of police stations across the island to ensure that the law and order is maintained throughout the country while implementing the QR-based fuel distribution system.
Police Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler said that the police will take legal action against anyone attempting to misuse, manipulate, or violate implementation of the QR system.
Spokesperson ASP Wootler also urged the public to act with patience and cooperate with the police while obtaining their fuel requirements during this period.
ASP Wootler further noted that mobile patrols and additional officers have been deployed to cover every police division across the island to maintain order and support the implementation of the system.
