Kottawa Raid Uncovers 458 Bullets and Heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st); A major breakthrough in narcotics and illegal arms investigations was made in the Rukmale Road area of Kottawa, where police apprehended a 24-year-old suspect in possession of a large cache of illicit items, including heroin and various types of live ammunition.

According to police sources, the suspect was found with 75 grams and 400 milligrams of heroin, along with a stockpile of 458 live ammunition rounds, including T-56 bullets.

Authorities also recovered 30 counterfeit vehicle license plates, 15 forged revenue licenses, 15 fake insurance certificates, and two mobile phones believed to be used in criminal activities.

The suspect, a resident of Angulana, Moratuwa, was taken into custody and has been handed over to the Western Province - South Crimes Investigation Unit for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
