Electric Boats To Clean Beira Lake

COLOMBO(News 1st); A program to clean the Beira Lake using electric boats has been launched.

According to the Western Province Governor's Media Unit, the program will remove up to 3,000 kilograms of waste per day using solar-powered electric boats.

The project, started as a pilot initiative, is planned to expand in the future with four boats.

It aims to improve the water quality of Beira Lake, restore its ecosystem, enhance the scenic beauty of the area, and protect community health.
