Police Arrest Duo Linked to Grandpass Murder

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred near the Grandpass Mahawatta Clock Tower last Friday night.

According to police, the suspects—aged 31 and 32, residents of Colombo 15—are believed to have assisted in the murder of a 26-year-old youth from Kelaniya, who was shot dead by two unidentified individuals arriving on a motorcycle.

Investigations led by the Northern Colombo Division Criminal Investigation Unit resulted in the arrest of the suspects in the Bloemendhal area, after which they were handed over to the Grandpass Police.

The Grandpass Police are continuing further investigations into the incident.
