Regulatory Action Promised After Devastating Ella Bus Crash

COLOMBO(News 1st);The Sri Lankan government has vowed to take necessary steps to regulate buses carrying passengers on excursions, following a tragic accident in Ella that claimed 15 lives.

According to Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, Deputy Minister of Transport, the measures will be implemented in line with the recently amended National Transport Commission Act.

He noted that the passenger transport bus that met with an accident in Ella, was deregistered by the NTC.
