Heat Index Reaches ‘Caution Level’ In Several Regions

COLOMBO(News 1st);The Department of Meterology has issued a statement saying that the Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at
some plces in Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces and Monaragala and Hambantota districts.

The Meteorological Department has advised the public to take necessary precautions against the prevailing hot weather.

People are urged to drink plenty of water and stay in shaded areas as much as possible.

Special caution has been advised for young children, the elderly, and people with health conditions.
