Ten Arrested for Illegal Excavation

COLOMBO (News 1st) -

Ten people engaged in illegal excavation were arrested in two separate locations last night.

Seven of the suspects were detained in Atulugama, Dehiovita, following a raid based on a tip off received by the Dehiovita police. 

They were found in possession of excavation tools and ritual items.

According to the police, the suspects, aged between 25 and 56, are residents of Seeduwa and Dehiovita.

The remaining three suspects were apprehended in Athurigiriya. 

These suspects, aged 24, 28, and 41, are from Panagoda and Hiripitiya.
