Police Launch Security Threat Assessment for MPs and Ministers

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The police have launched an assessment of the security needs for MPs and ministers, following concerns over their safety. 

Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya said that issues have arisen regarding the security of certain MPs and ministers, with reports of threats on their safety.

He said that based on the threat assessment, a decision regarding the security needed will be made.
