Vistara Threat Came 10 Minutes Before Landing

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lankan authorities confirmed that there was NO threat over the reported bomb scare on Vistara airlines flight UK 131 from Mumbai to Colombo on Saturday (19)

Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lankan Private Limited said that a nonspecific call on a bomb threat had been reported to the captain of the flight 10 minutes before landing at BIA.

After authorities were alerted about the threat, in line with protocol, all relevant authorities were immediately informed and an emergency was declared at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

The flight with 96 passengers and 8 crew onboard were immediately evacuated from the aircraft, said the authorities.
