No Threat Found After Bomb Scare on Vistara Flight UK 131

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) confirmed that there is no ongoing threat following a reported bomb scare on Vistara flight UK 131, an A320 Neo aircraft travelling from Mumbai to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

The flight, carrying 96 passengers and 8 crew members, was scheduled to arrive at 14:51 hrs and successfully landed at 14:49 hrs.

The incident began when the flight's captain received a nonspecific bomb threat call just 10 minutes prior to landing. In accordance with established safety protocols, BIA management promptly alerted relevant authorities, declaring an emergency to ensure the safety of all onboard.

Upon landing, all passengers were swiftly evacuated to the terminal as a precautionary measure. AASL worked closely with security agencies to conduct thorough checks, confirming that all individuals were safe and accounted for.

Aruna Rajapaksha, Head of Airport Management at AASL, stated, "Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) together with other authorities followed the standard protocols established for such incidents and ensured the safety and security of all passengers and crew is of utmost priority."
