Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko To Arrive in Sri Lanka Today for Bilateral Talks

COLOMBO (News 1st): Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko is scheduled to arrive in the country today for an official visit. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that his visit is intended for participation in the 11th session of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and Russia. He is expected to land in the island at 4:00 PM today.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further noted that the consultation session will be held this Thursday at the Ministry premises. The session is expected to be attended by the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, and other special representatives from both nations.

During the session, extensive discussions will be held regarding several sectors, including the economy, politics, culture, trade, and tourism of both countries. The talks will specifically focus on future challenges and the methods to overcome them, according to the Ministry.

Andrey Rudenko serves as the Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of the Asia-Pacific region for Russia. He is scheduled to depart the island this Saturday.

Meanwhile, a delegation including the Russian Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Marshavin, who arrived in the country on the 26th, departed the island on the 28th following several rounds of bilateral discussions.
