Thalatha Slams Sajith For Abandoning Roots

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Member of Parliament Thalatha Athukorala expressed her concerns regarding the current state of political alliances in Sri Lanka. 

Athukorala highlighted the confusion surrounding political figures, questioning whether it is "Ranil Rajapaksa or Sajith Rajapaksa" leading the charge. 

She referenced recent media reports suggesting an alliance between Sajith Premadasa and Namal Rajapaksa, and criticized Premadasa for allegedly abandoning his roots.

"Sajith has forgotten his roots. He will not participate in Sirasa's Satana program for presidential candidates because he wants to get work done from Hiru," she stated.

She emphasized that Ranil Wickramasinghe has always sought the consent of the majority and warned that any mistakes in the upcoming political decisions would have lasting consequences. 

Speaking in Badulla, Athukorala questioned the integrity of political transactions and urged the public to reject what she termed as "deal politics."
