Colombo(News1st) ; Locomotive drivers, government surveyors, Engineers under the Road Development Authority and university non-academic staff will engage in trade union action today.

The locomotive drivers' strike enters its fourth day today.

The strike stems from several issues, including salary concerns, stalled promotions, and a lack of new hires.

The Locomotive Operating Engineers Association, led by Secretary S.R.C.M. Senanayake, says authorities have not begun any discussions on related the related issues as of yet.

Meanwhile, President of the Government Surveyors Association Duminda Udugoda says employees will withdraw from duties today reporting sick leave.

The trade union action launched by the Engineering Association of the Road Development Authority based on several demands also continues today.

President of the Association Hemachandra Gunasinghe says employees will withdraw from constructing roads and bridges in rural areas.

Meanwhile, The strike launched by university non-academic employees continues to enter it's 39th day today.
