COLOMBO (News1st); The final rites of the late former State Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma will be conducted on Friday (19) evening, in Yatadolawatta, Matugama.
His remains will be placed at his residence in Yatadolawatta, Matugama from Wednesday (17) afternoon for the public to pay their respects.
Palitha Thewarapperuma passed away on Tuesday (16) evening after being electrocuted in his garden in Matugama.
Born on May 3, 1960, Palitha Thewarapperuma represented Parliament from the United National Party between 2010 and 2020.
He held the posts of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs, and State Minister of Wildlife.
He entered politics from the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha and also served as a member of the Western Provincial Council.
Thewarapperuma prioritized social service and stood out for his service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
