Borella Shooting Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A shooting incident in Sahasapura, Borella has left one dead and four others injured. 

Police said that the four injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

The deceased is a 23-year-old resident of Kelaniya.

The shooting, which occurred last night in Borella resulted in injuries to five people.

Police Media Spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler, said that two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on a group of people who were at a stadium, before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the assailants used a T-56 assault rifle and reportedly fired around 20 rounds.

Police believe the shooting is a result of an ongoing conflict between two drug traffickers currently hiding in Dubai.
