"Government hasn't won. Tax hike affects producers and consumers" - MP Harsha De Silva

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Dr. Harsha de Silva said that both the producers and the consumers have been affected by the increase in taxes through the budget.

He stressed that if the government is under the impression that they have won, just because their budget was passed in the Parliament, then they are wrong.

The MP said that Sri Lanka is experiencing such a situation today because the previous leaders made a poor decision to slash the taxes, adding that it was not practical to do so.
