Sri Lanka Army Assists in Drug Raids

COLOMBO (News 1st): Upon the basis of intelligence received from the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Unit yesterday, a suspect was arrested with 35.565 kilograms of Kerala cannabis, worth Rs. 8.5 million, in a joint raid conducted with the Negombo Divisional Intelligence Unit in the Etthukala area of Negombo. 

Further investigations are being conducted by the Negombo Police. 

Meanwhile, another raid conducted jointly by the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Unit and the Negombo Divisional Intelligence Unit on the same day led to the seizure of 600 illegal cigarettes which were being sold at a hotel worth Rs. 36,000.00 along with the suspect. 

Further investigations are being conducted by the Negombo Police.
