Ruling party local politician nabbed for operating gambling den

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Police raided a gambling den operated by a ruling party member of the Medagama Pradeshiya Sabha, and arrested eight people. 

The police noted that the suspect local government member was operating the gambling den in a car park owned by him.  

The arrested persons aged between 26 and 45 were residents of the Medagama, Monaragala and Buttala areas.

The suspects are expected to be produced to the Bibila Magistrate on Friday (18).
