Colombo (News 1st)  - Minister Bandula Gunawardena stated that they will present a proposal to uplift investments in the country. He stated that the investment ratio should be increased to about 40% if the country needs to maintain a growth rate of 8%. He goes on to state that the state sector does not have the capacity to bring in that many investments to the country. And that private sector employees who have never produced their earnings to the Inland Revenue Department, those who have deposited money in foreign countries, or those who have not paid taxes can now invest the money in these projects and that this proposed program will safeguard the money and the investors will have their freedom and be rewarded.
