COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Rs. 32 billion Thambuttegama Water Supply Project is scheduled to be inaugurated today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply Susil Ranasinghe said the project will provide clean drinking water to 25,000 families.
Meanwhile, construction of the Kebithigollewa and Horowpothana Water Supply Projects will also commence today.
The Minister said the two projects, to be implemented with assistance from JICA, will be carried out at a total cost of Rs. 52 billion.
Once completed, they are expected to provide clean drinking water to an additional 50,000 families.
