COLOMBO (News 1st) - A reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system built under the Gammadda initiative at Deeghamandala Primary School in Ampara will be officially handed over to students today.
The school, located in Abeysinghapura village in Panama North, has long faced a shortage of clean drinking water, affecting both its 122 students and teaching staff.
The project was made possible through the generous contributions from Devoshi Cooray, a Sri Lankan living in the United States, along with friends and well-wishers, and co-sponsored by Bernardine de Silva from Kohuwala.
The project was completed with the technical support of the Sri Lanka Navy.
