Dengue Cases Top 47,000; Special Control Operation Starts Today

COLOMBO (News 1st): A special mosquito control program is commencing today centering around Dengue-risk Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions.

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that it will be implemented for three days starting from today.

The Dengue Control Unit mentioned that the objective is to accelerate mosquito control activities in 112 MOH divisions where Dengue is spreading rapidly.

By now, the number of Grama Niladhari divisions where Dengue is spreading riskily has risen to 669.

The number of Dengue cases reported from the country so far stands at 47,530.

The Dengue Control Unit stated that the number of Dengue deaths reported within the elapsed period of the year is 29.
