Showers and Thundershowers Expected in Several Parts of the Island After 2 PM

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province, as well as in the Mullaitivu, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m. today.

The Department further stated that several spells of rain are also likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The Department of Meteorology has urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks from temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
