Gotabaya Rajapaksa Files Petition To Prevent Arrest Over Easter Attacks

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed a petition before the Court of Appeal seeking an order preventing his arrest under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

The petition is linked to investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The petition was filed through Attorney-At-Law Sanath Wijewardena.

Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara, and several others have been named as respondents in the petition.
