Ex-Spy Chief Salley Knew Easter Sunday Plot, Says Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala made explosive claims in Parliament, alleging that former State Intelligence Service Chief, retired Major General Suresh Salley, had prior knowledge of and actively conspired in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Delivering a statement before lawmakers, Minister Wijepala asserted that the former intelligence chief had been fully aware of the planned terrorist attacks as well as related violent extremist activities.

He further alleged that Salley had taken steps to prevent the disclosure of critical information that could have exposed shocking details surrounding the attacks.
