Chinese Trio Arrested With Hidden Cigarette Stock

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three Chinese nationals have been arrested by Sri Lanka Customs at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake for attempting to smuggle a stock of foreign cigarettes valued at over Rs. 6 million into the country.

The suspects, aged 31, 36 and 40, were taken into custody following their arrival from Malaysia in the early hours today (25).

According to Customs officials, the individuals had transported the consignment concealed within their luggage.
