Public Warned To Avoid Firework Accidents During New Year Celebrations

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Health is urging the public to take necessary precautions to minimize firework-related accidents during the New Year season.

Dr. Samitha Sirithunga, Community Physician and Head of the Accident Prevention Unit at the Ministry's Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Unit, advises parents and guardians to strictly refrain from allowing children to use fireworks without adult supervision. 

He further appealed to the public to celebrate this New Year responsibly and ensure an accident-free festive season.
