COLOMBO (News 1st) - Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport have seized a consignment of foreign-manufactured cigarettes worth Rs. 30 million.
The cigarettes were discovered in 13 abandoned bags at the airport’s baggage claim, totaling around 1,000 cartons with 200,000 cigarettes—brought in from Dubai.
Authorities have taken steps to confiscate all the cigarettes and transfer them to the main customs warehouse complex in Colombo.
