COPE to Launch Surprise Inspections on Inefficient State Institutions

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has decided to conduct sudden inspections of state institutions facing efficiency concerns.

The Chairman of the Committee, Member of Parliament Dr. Nishantha Samaraweera, says that this measure will also be carried out in institutions with outstanding audit issues.

Key objectives of these sudden inspections include, Identifying management weaknesses within the relevant organizations, Discussing follow-up actions based on the findings, Summoning governing authorities before the COPE committee to issue formal recommendations.
