COLOMBO (News1st): The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has announced that the printing of vehicle number plates will resume within the next three months.
Kamal Amarasinghe, Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic said that there is a backlog of nearly 400,000 number plates to be printed at present.
He noted that the new production will adhere to international standards.
Printing operations were halted in April last year following the cancellation of the previous tender.
The Department had previously granted permission for vehicle owners to display temporary number plates due to this.
