Navy Seizes Drug Stock Off Kalpitiya Coast

COLOMBO(News 1st); A stock of drugs has been found in a boat off the Battalangunduwa coast in Kalpitiya.

This discovery was made during an operation carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy last night.

Police Media Spokesperson, ASP F. U. Wootler, said that 63 kilograms of ice and 14 kilograms of heroin were found in the boat, adding that the drugs had been packed in three sacks.

ASP Wootler further said that the owner of the boat and his son have now fled the area.
