Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa says that there is no risk of a fuel shortage in the country.

He made this statement while addressing a media briefing convened today to clarify the situation in the Middle East region.

The Minister further assured that the country has sufficient fuel reserves available and urged the public not to create unnecessary panic.

Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa added that the public should refrain from unnecessarily stockpiling fuel.

He added that if anyone attempts to create fear or unrest unnecessarily, or tries to incite panic among the public, the government will not hesitate to enforce the country’s general law against such actions. 

Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa asserted that what is most important for the government is safeguarding the peaceful well-being of the people and protecting public life.
