COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities have uncovered a vessel believed to have been used by Ishara Sewwandi—the prime suspect in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder case—to flee to India.

The discovery was made during a special operation conducted in the Jaffna region.

Meanwhile, investigators have seized two modern pistols from a suspect named Anandan, who allegedly assisted Sewwandi in her escape.

The weapons were recovered during an interrogation.

Further investigations reveal that Anandan had previously facilitated the illegal sea passage of several organized crime figures to India on multiple occasions.
