Backhoe Saman’s Wife Back In Remand

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sadhika Lakshani, wife of notorious underworld figure Backhoe Saman, has been remanded until the 31st of this month following proceedings at the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court earlier today (23). 

Lakshani faces serious allegations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, with investigators accusing her of being involved in financial crimes linked to illicit networks. 

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) previously informed the court that 13 bank accounts belonging to Lakshani and her close family members have been frozen by the High Court, pending further investigation.
