President Dissanayake, PM Sharif discuss stronger ties

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, currently attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held bilateral discussions with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Sri Lanka’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

President Dissanayake extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Sharif before the two leaders engaged in a cordial dialogue focused on strengthening the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The discussions covered a wide range of areas, with both parties expressing interest in enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, regional connectivity, and cultural exchange.
