Ex-Naval Intelligence Director Remanded Until September 24 Over 2010 Abduction and Murder

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Director of Naval Intelligence, Retired Rear Admiral Sarath Mohotti, was remanded until September 24 after being produced before the Polgahawela Magistrate, this afternoon.

He was arrested earlier today by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with the abduction and murder of a man in Pothuhera, in 2010.

Meanwhile, Former Commander of the Navy Nishantha Ulugetenne, who was previously arrested over the same incident, remains in remand custody. 

He faces allegations for heading the Naval Intelligence Unit in 2010 and overseeing an unlawful detention centre where the abducted individual was allegedly held, during his tenure.
