UNP and SJB Hold Talks on Establishing LG Bodies

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Another round of discussions between the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has commenced at the Opposition Leader’s office.

UNP Chairman Wajira Abeywardana, along with several other party members, is participating in the talks. 

Earlier in the day, the SJB management board also convened at the same venue, chaired by the Opposition Leader. 

National Organizer of SJB, Tissa Attanayake said they are aiming to set up 132 local government bodies, with discussions expected to conclude within the week.

He confirmed that talks with other political parties have already been completed, and only a few minor issues remain to be resolved.
