CID Takes Over Probe into Sabaragamuwa Uni Student’s Death

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special team from the University Grants Commission (UGC) has recorded statements from several individuals as part of the investigation into the recent death of a student at Sabaragamuwa University.

The UGC appointed the investigative team last week following the sudden death of a second-year student from the university's Faculty of Technology.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of Acting Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasooriya, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
