The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Sri Lanka (CBCSL), in a message issued to mark Easter Sunday, has recognized the current government's initial efforts towards ensuring an independent and impartial inquiry into the devastating 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
While expressing their appreciation for the steps taken thus far, the CBCSL emphasized the critical need for the investigations to reach their conclusive aim: identifying not only the direct perpetrators but also those who may have aided and abetted in the horrific act.The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Sri Lanka stressed that this determination is a matter of urgency and fundamental justice for the victims and the nation.
In their Easter message, they also conveyed their profound desire for peace within Sri Lanka. Extending their compassion beyond national borders, they voiced deep concern for those enduring violence in other parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East and Ukraine.
