Suspect Arrested at BIA With Cocaine Smuggled From Brazil

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A foreign national has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake for attempting to smuggle a consignment of cocaine into the country.

According to Sri Lanka Customs, the suspect had concealed the narcotics in small bags wrapped in cardboard, hidden inside his suitcase.

The cocaine had been brought from Brazil via Doha, Qatar. 

Authorities are currently calculating the total quantity of the seized narcotics.
