Rs. 5 Billion Allocated for paddy purchases: President Promises Fair Price for Farmers

COLOMBO (News 1st): President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that Rs. 5 billion was allocated to the Paddy Marketing Board for the purchase of paddy.

He made these remarks while addressing a public rally in Polonnaruwa today.

The President also said that paddy storage facilities worth 300,000 metric tonnes have undergone renovations.

The President highlighted that this season's harvest will be purchased at a very reasonable price.

He affirmed the public that no one will ever face a problem regarding the price of paddy. 

The President added that Lanka Sathosa too has made plans to purchase even more paddy from the farmers.
