COLOMBO (News 1st) - The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam, has provided clarification regarding Yoshitha Rajapaksa's involvement in a recent incident, where a brawl broke out at a night club in Colombo.
Kariyawasam stated that Yoshitha Rajapaksa is not a member of the SLPP, although he is the brother of the party's organizer and the son of the party leader.
Kariyawasam said that he conducted an inquiry into the matter and confirmed that there are no complaints or legal actions against Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
The only connection to the incident is a statement made by an individual who mentioned that Yoshitha Rajapaksa was present at the location shortly before the event occurred. Kariyawasam emphasized that there is no further involvement or connection.
He expressed concern that if issues arise after someone leaves a location, and their name is associated with the incident, it can create significant problems for both the individual and the party. Kariyawasam stressed that such situations should not occur in the country.
